Snow, in spring. I know this is not a first but it seems so odd. I know spring is going to be passed over once again and we will find ourselves right in the midst of summer. Don’t blink anyone.
This beautiful Trumpeter Swan was just gliding across the water. There was something magical in the highlights, a inter glow emanating from inside. It was very beautiful to watch.

A Splash of Color can totally change the look of a rather ordinary photograph. I’ve chosen to highlight the color you would typically imagine. This can really be done with any photograph that has that special focal point. I will continue to explore this form of photographic editing.
Until next time…
Welcome July. The past week we have had outrageously high temperatures. There were many concerns about how hot it was with people, let alone all the animals. I know my concerns were with keeping all of our animals and the dogs vacationing with us at Hound Hollow Boarding Kennel cool.
Featured is a charming Blenheim and White Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, her name is Gwen. She’s a difficult one to photograph. Being a “spaniel” her head tends to lead her which makes her always look down. It was my challenge to get at least one good shot, where her nose was not buried in the ground. She is just a very grounded young dog. There are more photographs of Gwen in the Canine Gallery
Be well, until next time.
Summer, has arrived and with it has given us an array of weather. We’ve had heavy rain early mornings and by mid day the sun is shining. Some days it is pure sunshine and blue skies all day. Birds are singing all the time. There are so many species that come to our feeders, including one Hummingbird. It has been years since we’ve seen a Hummingbird here on the farm. We believe it is due to the feral cats, not their food source. I am trying to capture this little bird for you to see.
The beautiful canine above is Reese, a crossbreed. He appears to be part Beagle and maybe some German Shepherd in there too. He’s a true gentleman to be around. He is featured today and is also in the Canine Gallery. The camera just loves him. His dark eyes, eye rim pigment and coat color just shine. I am honored to be around such a sweet dog.
Be well, until next time…..
Summer, is almost here. The weather has been just beautiful this week. It has gave me the opportunity to do somethings I love. I got out on the motorcycle for a few short rides, which always revitalizes me. I also was able to take some photographs. I have added several new photo shoots to the Canine Gallery .
Pictured above is a wonderful Labrador Retriever, Brady. We have been caring for at the kennel since he’s a young puppy, and have watched him mature into the lovely canine he is today. We enjoy him every time he visits. He’s very photogenic.
Happy Father’s Day to all the great dad’s out there.
Be well, until next time.
Meet Cooper a beautiful Pembroke Welsh Corgi. He’s as smart as a whip and just adores retrieving, even toys that are really too big for him. We are honored to be using Cooper in our newest ad for our boarding kennel. I took many photographs of him, above are just a few.
It seems that wherever I go, I am inspired to snap the shutter button. Right now all the flowers are blooming and before long many will be gone. The birds are nesting and I can hear the peeping of little ones from way above in the tree tops. The colors all around are just magnificent. Spring, is so amazingly pretty.
So until next time, take a look around and see what Spring looks like.
Happy Mother’s to all the mom’s out there. What a great day it was. When you go out to photograph events such as a dog show or horse show you sometimes snap a picture, that captures the essence and feeling of that very moment. I think this afternoon, I did just that. I was able to see others dedicated to their animals. I hope you get a chance to check out my Galleries and see exactly what I am talking about. Please enjoy.
Until next time…..
